- Hello and thank you for viewing this blog dedicated to sharing the minutes of the Evergreen Society. My family currently resides in the old house known as Green Mount where the Evergreen Society was begun by young girls attending school here from 1873-1888. Some were boarders. It is a home rich in history, love, joy, sadness, and wonderful teachings worth sharing. Being a Virginian, I am especially proud to be one of the custodians of the Green Mount artifacts, writings, etc. My family and I helped the owner restore Green Mount from 2005~2008 and moved in during May of that completion year. It was during that time we found two old journals containing the minutes the girls kept of their meetings.
